Sole survivor of a lost whaling ship, young and impressionable Ishmael (Henry Thomas, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial) is drawn to the idea of adventure on the high-seas and joins the crew of legendary whaling ship Pequod, befriending a gentle Polynesian harpooner named Queequeg. In the aftermath of a ferocious squall the enigmatic Captain Ahab (Patrick Stewart, X-Men) finally presents himself to his crew and sets sail into the great unknown. As the journey unfolds Ishmael begins to understand the myth behind the man and vividly relates the tale of Captain Ahab’s single-minded and self-destructive hunt for the elusive white whale Moby Dick.
